Cloud Computing 101

This is great news for customers who are looking for a better Internet experience, and don’t want the hassle of being capped when they reach their monthly limit. With a fixed monthly cost for bandwidth, customers will also be able to make better use of other online services, such as online backup, hosted email and server hosting.

Telkom currently is testing a 10Mbps line, which is set to be rolled out to areas that can support this higher speed. Once this becomes official, we will be able to launch a package that accommodates this line speed as well.

Please note that this service is not designed for automated 24/7 downloading of large amounts of data, which might cause quality issues for others using the same service. Make sure you are familiar with our usage policies before purchasing this service. We generally recommend this product for those who frequently use between 7 to 10GB or more data per month.

Clients that order this service now will have to wait 2 – 5 days for the service to be activated.

New Uncapped DSL product

Jose Hermida and Rudi Van Houts (Multivan Merida 2) claim the win for the final stage in a fast paced race from Oak Valley to Lourensford. Following in second place were Emil Lindgren and Fabian Giger of team Rabobank-Giant Off Road. Christoph Sauser and Burry stander of team Songo-Specialized by DCM came in third.

Despite the best efforts of the chasing teams, Karl Platt and Stefan Sahm maintain their 11 minute lead in the final stage, to win their 3rd Cape Epic as a team.

Team RSAWEB riders Nic and Simon finished 22nd in stage 8, and placed a very respectable 25th overall (out of 600 teams) – a personal best for both brothers. Team RSAWEB 2 and 3 riders Rob Gilmour, Mark Slingsby, Richard Tasker and Jeremy Shaw all finished strong on the final stage, bringing to a close a successful 2010 ABSA Cape Epic mission for the team. Congrats to all our team riders!

2010 ABSA Cape Epic – Stage 8: Oak Valley – Lourensford

Brothers Lukas and Mathias Flűckiger from team Trek World Racing win stage 7, beating Bulls 1 team Karl Platt and Stefan Sahm in a dash for the finish line.

Jose Hermida and Rudi Van Houts celebrated their first spot on the podium, finishing 3rd in a time of 4:13.36,7.

Team RSAWEB riders Nic and Simon continue their strong form, finishing 25th, and moving back up to 25th place overall.

2010 ABSA Cape Epic – Stage 7: Oak Valley – Oak Valley

The Flűckiger brothers’ team of Lukas and Mathias from team Trek World Racing repeated last year’s final stage victory by winning stage 6 of this year’s Absa Cape Epic in 4:37.22,6.

They were followed by Christoph Sauser and Burry Stander of team Songo-Specialized by DCM in a time of 4:40.00,8 who crossed the line with Bulls 1 team Karl Platt and Stefan Sahm, who gave way to let them take the 2nd place.

Team RSAWEB riders Nic and Simon had their best stage of the race yet, coming in at 22nd, in a time of 5:22.35,4 (123 km).

2010 ABSA Cape Epic – Stage 6: Worcester – Elgin

Burry Stander (South Africa) & Christoph Sauser (Switzerland) riding for team Songo-Specialized by DCM claim  their 3rd consecutive win, dominating the pace in the time trial stage.

Kevin Evans and Alban Lakata of team MTN Qhubeka Topeak Ergon finished in 2nd place followed by  Karl Platt & Stefan Sahm from team Bulls 1 who keep the winners jersey, and maintain a strong lead of over 7 minutes.

Look out for our Team RSAWEB riders in this video as they tear through this stage, finishing only 10 minutes behind the top 3 teams.

2010 ABSA Cape Epic – Stage 5: Worcester time trial

Burry Stander (South Africa) & Christoph Sauser (Switzerland) riding for team Songo-Specialized by DCM win this stage, boosting their overall position to 3rd place.

Battling the strong winds blowing through Worcester,  Karl Platt & Stefan Sahm from team Bulls 1 took second place , reclaiming the leaders jersey from Kevin Evans and Stephan Sahm of team MTN Qhubeka Topeak Ergon who crossed the line in 3rd place.

Watch out for a post race chat with our team riders Nic and Simon Lamond who claimed one more place today, with a fast paced ride. They are now in 26th place overall.

2010 ABSA Cape Epic – Stage 4: Ceres – Worcester

Local hero Burry Stander (South Africa) & Christoph Sauser (Switzerland) riding for team Songo-Specialized by DCM won stage 3, much too the delight of the Ceres supporters. Lukas Flückiger & Mathias Flückiger from team Trek world racing followed in second place, boosting their position to 6th place overall. Karl Platt & Stefan Sahm from team Bulls 1 stole the leaders jersey from Kevin Evans and Stephan Sahm with their 3rd place on podium for this sage. With only 10 minutes between the top four teams, its still anyone’s race.

2010 ABSA Cape Epic – Stage 3: Ceres – Ceres

MTB legend Bart Brentjens (Netherlands) & Jelmer Pietersma (Netherlands) from team Trek-Brentjens take first spot on the podium for Stage 2. Hot on their heels , Karl Platt (Germany) & Stefan Sahm (Germany) from team Bulls and Kevin Evans (South Africa) & Alban Lakata (Austria) from team MTN Qhubeka Topeak Ergon followed in two second intervals to take second and third place respectively. Kevin Evans and Stefan Sahm retain the winners jerseys at end of Stage 2, but its still early days with very little time between the top teams.

Kevin Evans (South Africa) & Alban Lakata (Austria) from team MTN Qhubeka Topeak Ergon cross the finish line first in a time of 4:35.52,3. Frustrated by wheel issues, Burry Stander (South Africa) and Christoph Sauser (Netherlands) from team Songo-Specialized by DCM follow in second place almost five minutes behind. Emil Lindgren (Sweden) and Fabian Giger (Switzerland) beat 2009 wining team, Bulls (Karl Platt & Stefan Sahm), to take the 3rd spot on the podium. An exciting start to the 2010 ABSA Cape Epic!
